Hello, everyone,

I haven't been back to China for 5 years. The police certificate I got was from 2 years ago. Do I need to go to the police office to get a new one or I can get the old one certificated again?

It worked for me but for some other country. I got it in 2010 but submitted to CIC in 2013

Hi Rabbit_Shu,

Would you kindly help me to get a Police certificate from China. Just let me know the procedure and how much should I have to pay to obtain police certificate from China. Currently I am living in Beijing. I will be grateful to you for your kind help.

Thanks and regards,

Eusufzai

Hi rabbit_shu,

If you haven't visited China recently, you don't need to obtain a new PCC from China. But, if your PCC from current location is older than 12 months, then you need to get a new PCC from that place.

I was in similar situation. I was in US while my case was pending. I did not visit India for about 4 years. So, I have got new FBI Clearance certificate from US and submitted to CIC without being asked me.

Thanks,
Sarayu.

Hi, Eusufzai,

I haven't lived in Beijing before, but I suppose the procedure should be the same. First, you go to the police office which is in charge of your living area. They will provide you a PCC written in Chinese. Then, you have to find an office of public notary in Beijing to translate it into English and do the certification. There are a few offices doing that in Beijing. They are called "公证处(gong zheng chu)" in Chinese. Just find one on the internet and call them to check the price. Good luck.

Hi shu, u need to get a new one. It is clearly shown on the guide that the PCC must have been issued no more than 3 months prior to submitting your application.

I think there is no harm in sending whatever you have in hands if it is urgent. It is logically fine as you obtained it after you left China. In the mean time, you can apply for new one just in case. As i know that it was not easy to obtain PCC if you are not living in China, few years back.

Yes, that's the problem. My mom helped getting the last one for me two years ago and went through a lot of trouble. If it's OK I really don't want to put her through all that again.
