Hi all!
My student visa application has been accepted and my wife has applied for an open work permit. Please note that we come from a visa exempt country, so she does not need a TRV to enter Canada.
I have listed her as accompanying member and we plan to go together to Canada.
My question is whether we will face any problem at the point of entry, if a decision on her work permit has not been reached by the time of our arrival and she has her application with a pending status.
Will we face any problem with her accompanying me if she has submitted an application for an open work permit and have not yet received the answer?
I know that she cannot work until a decision by CIC has been made, the officers probably will see the status of her application as pending, but I'd like to know where are we supposed to go as soon as the email notification by CIC comes to us.
Should we go to the airport again (point of entry) and showing the introductory letter, a work permit is issued to her?
Are there other immigration points that issue permits when you have a positive response?
Anyone who can share his/her experience on this one would help...
