hello ,
i am from Pakistan ,and an international student in Canada.
my passport going to expire in september 2014.
can i renew it next year ,i.e by october 2012? ,coz then (after the degree) i'll be able to appy for the full 3 years PGWP.otherwise they'll issue me 2 years PGWP.
some guys says that u can renew the PGWP ,but em nt sure about that ,as its nt mentioned on cic website ,n they clearly says its one time process.

do they (my consulate i.e Pakistn) allow the renewal of passport (2 years before the expiry)?
will there be any problem with that?

Regarding the latter issue you need to contact your pakistani consulate and ask them how early you can renew your passport. The more important issue is this if they decide to renew your passport in canada they will give you a non computerised passport (old fashioned) i suspect which may not be acceptable for cic purposes.

Sehrish u need not to worry about 2014 being ur passport expiry.

when u complete ur degree and apply for post degree workpermit.. u will get 2 year permit even if ur passport expiry is after one year.

what u have to do is. apply for a new passport at paksitan consulate in canada upon expiry of passport.

they will issue u a new passport..

now u will be having a new passport+ old expired passport with work permit on it...

u have to keep both with u when leaving on entring canada..

thats it.

so no need to worry janab..

aur suanyeen app ki studies kisi ja raheen hain.

i know someone who went to pakistan just to renew his passport as he finished his degree n he said with new passport (extended date u can get the full 3 years permit (after 2 years of study)
there are many people who get the permit upto the expiry date of the passport .
PMM said in one of the forum that after getting new passport u can then apply for the remaining work permit .

i was looking at pak consulate website ,and i think they now issue u the computerized passports
but i think ,i am not sure ,u can apply 6 months prior to ur passport expiry.

yaar dont worry .. u will get 3 year work permit,..

no worries...

abhi app studies per concentrate kero yaar.

after one year of work permit apply for PR.

Hi Sherish...where you study ?

I am also in Canada ,we got our visa in same month.... I also use this forum yesterday....

you also appear some time later...after your flight in September....

you don't worry about that,,when you will got your 3 year PGWP then visa will be stamp on present passport

when you will renew your passport then your first passport will be attach for 2 year ..because your visa be valid....

please don't concentrate on different people suggestions....you will confuse more and more...Canada life is not too much hard...

all the process will complete with the passage of time....you ask the question to each person.....every person will answer you in different style.

and different confusion will be create....so don't concentrate on all suggestions....

if you have any query then ask ,,, I will answer you...after reaching there i have too much experience about that...
