i'm an indian student at Canada. my passport is expiring in december 2013 as well as visa stamp but my study permit is until august 2014. i am renewing my passport now. can i get visa stamp on my new passport. what is the procedure for it. plz help me.

i believe u will have to do extension of trv but not completely sure ....

No, unless you want to travel outside Canada and return before August/14 (other than the US> )

You'll have to carry both your Passports.

Visa stamp are done when you enter/re-enter the country. It cannot be stamped beyond the date of your Passport's expiry. And as far as I know, staying without a valid visa stamp will be considered illegal!

I think you'll have exit and re-enter the country after you get your passport renewed to get your visa stamps renewed! But I am no expert...

Edit: You can try the Immigration Officer at the International Airport. He may stamp on your passport without requiring you to leave the country.
