Hi,

I am wondering if anyone with experience applying CEC holding temporary job contacts could help me to check if this contact is ok to apply:

Dear xxxx,

I am pleased to offer you the temporary full-time position of xxxx (position name) at xxx (company name), reporting to xxxx, starting on xx/xx/2013, and ending on xx/xx/2014 (the “Expiry Date”). This position is located at xxxx (office location).

Wages information

Termination information

Additional Agreements

I have already confirmed my position is eligible for applying CEC under NOC A and the duration of the contact is over a year. Just wondering if the style of contract would be possible to get through CEC process.

Thanks

experience gained under term-limited contracts is accepted under CEC.

Thanks!

Also just curious, how likely is people holding temporary position contracts getting approved by the program? Any one with previous successful experience?

pxmyh,

work permits are temporarily by nature so you have nothing to worry about as long as you complete the required period which is currently 12 months and the hours required plus meet all other CEC requirements then you can apply under this program.

good :) luck

Hi pxmyh, I was on a temporary contract position when I applied and, got my PR.

But......unfortunately that doesnt mean anything. Being on a contract full time position doesnt make it any less likely or more likely to get a PR than somebody else. Your application package will be assessed in its entirety.

If your concern is that CIC will reject your application because you have a contract full time position, then, I would say that you should not be concerned about that. Only self employment/incorporation and work during studies are not considered "work experience" for CEC.

So, to put it very loosely, if you are getting a T4 from your employer and you have not worked during your study period, you should be good to go with the "work experience" part of the program.

Thank you guys so much for the confirmation and sharing your experience! That really ease my Anxiety :D

Cheers
