Pls help with proof of fund at the time of landing

Hello fellow members,
Happy new year to u all.
I have a situation regarding proof of fund at the time of landing.pls help me with best possible option.
We r family of 3 so I have around 18000 dollar in my bank.In this around 11500 in indian bank and rest here in kuwait.I have international debit card for my Indian bank account.Now what I am planning is to take 6000 dollar cash and rest to be in indian bank whenever i will need I can take out in canada.Is this a good option.I can only show the reciept of having this much amount in indian bank.Will this reciept of a ATM machine be enough as a proof of fund?
any sugggestionspls help.It is not possible to go to india just to get pof alone.

I suppose you can show your current ATM balance sheet, as I have seen in this tread, people moving from US doing the same. But I would suggest you to ask your bank to fax the latest statement or somebody from India get the statement and fax it. Better to be in a safer side.

I would also suggest to get Online statement printed and get it notarized locally in kuwait. I am not sure if this is correct but sometimes can be accepted too.

Dear all,

As far as I understand, the ATM printout and/or the online statement won't be acceptable. Even if u try to get it 'notarized', I don't think any Public Notary will do it too.

The best way is to obtain the latest bank statement 'in original'. For which, u can send an 'authority letter' for a friend/relative at your homeland to get it from your bank. The bankers understand the requirement and invariably oblige.

A bank letter stating your account balance will be good enough...even i am also planning to do the same...so dont worry..it will be allright...good luck
