I am on a LMO and the closed work permit from the employer expires in Nov 2014. I have also applied for my PR and received my AOR in June 2013.
Wondering if I would could apply for an open work permit so that I dont have to work with the same employer till my PR. How positive are my changed to get an Open Work Permit.

You can't apply for a bowp until 4 months before your wp is due to expire. Chances are your app will be processed by this point.
