Pls advise - Spousal work permit

Hi Folks,
Hope you'll are doing well.

Here is my problem, I applied under CEC PR in Feb last year and added my spouse onto my application while applying. So far until today we haven't heard anything nor any progress on our file.
So my wife applied for a visiting visa and she got a 10 year visa yesterday.
My question is ..
1) IF she comes here can we convert her visiting visa into an open work permit ?
2) IF when shes here, we receive our PR notification, will she need to go back to her home country and complete formalities there or can she just do it with me in Canada since she'll be in Canada soon?

Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

It depends what you mean by 'convert'. Certain people are eligible for open work permits - see Who can apply for an open work permit?.

If you are working under a BOWP, then your spouse can apply for an open work permit on that basis.

I can't think of any 'formalities' that would require her to return to her home country if she is in Canada when the confirmation of PR comes.
