my current employer just told me that he has to apply for a new LMO for my new location, so he said that i have to do a quick visa run to the border and get a new work permit.
can someone tell me what does it means..please reply
thankyou everyone

Guess i wasn't much clear for you guys to understand what i was asking let me give you much more clear pic.

i have a work permit approved for Grande prairie, but am still not in canada, am planning to move in july mid, When i told my employer about i moving in july mid, he told me that probably they wont have any space for me in Grande prairie restaurant, so once i arrive in grande prairie they will reapply for my new LMO, and then i have to run to the border and get a new work permit...
so what i wanna know is.. what do you mean by that i have to run to the border and get my new work permit, just to be more specific i am a citizen of a country that need a visa for USA and canada, so it means tht i cant go to USA if i have to cross border..
Secondly it will be same employer applying for my new LMO for its Different restaurnt somewere in B.C or Alberta. so will it be a case that i dont have to leave canada and cross any border.. or what can be the possibilities
PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME WITH THIS.
THANKYOU

Your employer means that to get the new work permit, he wants you to flagpole - that is:

- you go to any land crossing between US/Canada
- go over to the US side
- tell them you don't really want to enter the US, your intention is to exit and return to Canada to apply for a new work permit
- the US border officer will give you an administrative refusal (which has no negative impact)
- you return to the Cdn side and apply for your work permit

This option is available to you because you'll already be in Canada with a valid WP and TRV.
