I am an American citizen, married to a Canadian. We got married in Pennsylvania and then moved up to Canada. I'm living on a visitor's record while completing paperwork for PR. We sent all our paperwork in and then heard back from them that we need to have a marriage license issued by a state authority. In Pennsylvania our marriage licenses are maintained by our county courts. We had obtained a certificate certified by the clerk of our county court but does anyone know what we need to do to satisfy CIC's request for one issued by a state authority ?
