Hi! Me and my partner are planning to apply to Canada anytime soon. Our case is he will be applying for a student visa and me as open work permit visa. Our plan is he will be the first one who will submit an application for student visa then when he's visa get approve i will send mine. My question is what are the possible ways for me to get my visa approve as open work permit? Can we consider getting married first before i will pass my application?

Btw, we are from the Ph. Thanks for those who will answer :)

You’d have to be common law or married to apply to accompany an international students. Spouses of international students are not guaranteed permits/visas. They are allowed to apply but not everyone gets approved.

I can’t say. Will depend on your finances but IRCC doesn’t publish what you need to get approved.

It's also important you show home ties, as this will prove your intention of returning to your country later. All the best.

Another concern, what if my ties will not be from the ph? what if it's from different country? will it affect my application?because i'm planning to provide an affidavit of support for my supporting documents.

No one can tell you your chances of approval because we have no idea how much money you have or what your profile is.

even if we apply thru agency?

Applying through an agency does not improve your chances at all.

I have no idea what you mean by this. Do you mean your partner is an OFW?

As previously mentioned, the only way you can get to apply for an open work permit with your partner's study permit is if you show that you are married or common-law (12 months of living together).

No. i'm planning to have an affidavit of support coming from one of my relative living in Australia. Is it ok?

It would be best if you can show that you can fund the studies yourself.
