Hello
I want apply for asylum from in Canada, and I want to know how much time will take until exhausted all opportunities available to me and I will be forced to leave.
You will only be forced to leave if you make a false refugee claim and IRB rejects your claim. If you fear persecution and you are unable to return to your home country because of a well-founded fear then this can be your predicted timeline:-
1) case hearing: 60 days ( averagely nowadays its 60 days but in some cases it goes beyond 60 days)
2) getting a work permit: 2-3 months
3) Becoming a PR: 12-28 months after you submit your Pr application after you get your notice of decision.
note: once you are determined to be a convention refugee/protected person then even without a PR you can work/job, get your Sin number, get your driving licence, bank account etc etc do anything which is required for a settlement.
In case of a false claim or rejection:-
1) case hearing: 60 days
2) deportation in case of rejection: 1-3 months ( you can voluntarily leave any time)
3) in case you decide to make an appeal: timeline differs
hope it helps
