Upfront
We sent our application on November 24th and it says it was delivered on November 26th. Even though its all sent and I can't change anything I'm worried about a few things so I thought I'd ask a few questions here.
First of all my husband and I didn't have a wedding ceremony or reception, we just had a dinner with his family and signed out marriage papers, because we're having a wedding ceremony and reception in January but wanted to start this process right away. We wrote that on the forms. We did include engagement pictures and pictures or us signing the papers. Just wondering if anyone else has done this and whether or not this could affect our application.
I also included a ton of pictures of us, and I used Word to print several pictures on a page. I wrote the captions out instead of typing them, has anyone else done that?
Also my husband had applied to come to Canada on student visa last year. He was accepted to university in the city where I live. His visa was denied. Could this affect our application?
I know I can't change anything now but just wondering what other people's experiences have been and hopefully I can calm down a little.
Thanks!!

You are legally married, correct? When you say that you signed your marriage papers `over dinner', what does that mean?

One of the items on the document checklist, that you needed to include with your application, is a copy of your marriage certificate. What did you provide?

Having multiple photos in a Word document, with captions, is perfectly acceptable (and quite common).

Regarding your husband's visa issue...did you include that information on your application (sounds like you did not)? I seem to recall at least one question (somewhere) that asks if [he's] ever been denied entry into Canada or any other country. If he did see such a question and did NOT include that, you could have a problem. Failure to disclose that can be grounds for misrepresentation.

Sit tight and wait for others to comment, but in the mean time...calm down a bit. ;)

I understand you are anxious but please calm now, you will only be stressed and make the wait every more problematic

As Ponga asked, what does it mean you signed over dinner; I assume when you have a civil marriage registration AKA court marriage you will sign in front of a magistrate - at least thats how its in my country India. Did you provide the marriage certificate in your application?

Its perfectly fine to print the photos and add captions - We did that and soo many people so..

I hope on our husband's application form you and him had mentioned the study permit denial cause if not thats misrepresentation; If you have I dont think it would cause a problem with the PR application cause again I would presume they would look at it as two separate application (Yes they do verify and check)

We had someone legally marry us and then had a little dinner to celebrate. We did get and send our marriage certificate in!

Also we did disclose the visa denial in our application. I'm more worried cause he was denied it in July of this year.

*Whew* That's good news!

Unless your husband was denied the Visa because of inadmissibility issues (such as criminality), this should not impact your PR sponsorship.

Thats good to hear then. It shouldnt impact your application.

Thanks so much!! I feel better now!! It's just a matter of being patient now I guess!
