Hi all,
My common-law spouse and I are filling out form IMM 5409E at the request of CIC and despite reading the instruction guide, I'm having a bit of confusion with regards to filling it out. If anyone could offer helpful advice, I'd greatly appreciate it! Here are my questions:
1) Which one of us is the declarant and which one is the declarant's partner? Is the applicant the declarant or is the sponsor?
2) The top section of the form asks us to fill in the blanks of where we're from "name and name of _________". My partner is American but we both live and work in Vancouver. Would we fill in Vancouver or would it be his country of origin?
3) There is a question that asks if we "jointly own property other than our residence?" What constitutes that property? We jointly own our furniture and household goods, but the car we have is only listed in my partner's name and we don't have other large assets.
We're off to get this notarized this afternoon!
