Im an American citizen visiting my wife in canada. My permanent application is already in processed since april 16. Ive been staying with her since February 28. My 6 months visitor will soon expire. Can someone please give advice on the best way to extend my stay. if i do it online will they ask for my wife's bank statement. Or can i drive to the US and will it renew my 6 month. if i do so how many day till i can comeback to canada?

As far as I know, you can do either. You can cross the border and come back, this will cause your visitor pass to reset. Or you can apply online to extend it, and if your current one expires while you wait for the other one, you are on implied status, which is perfectly legal. I don't think the visitor extension application asks for any bank info.

There's actually no guarantee that you will be admitted back into Canada. You should be as an America - however there's always some chances of a refusal.

You would actually be better off applying for an extension from within Canada (rather than leaving and re-entering to extend your visit). When you apply for the extension you can mention that your PR application is in progress and you shouldn't have any issues getting the extension approved.
