please help, urgent,need expert advice

hi

i have applied for canadian immigration and before this i visited usa (new york) for 6 times. now cic has asked me to provide fbi and ny state police clearance certificate.

my question is that everytime i visited usa my stay was less than 6 months (although my total stay length during all these visits were more than 6 months).so based on this ,do i need to get these both certifcates or should i write to canadian high commission for extemption of these certificates. please reply as soon as possible.

If I would be in your situation, I will send an email to CIC with same question. But I think they will say "Yes We need certificates regardless for time of stay". So just spend 40-50 dollars and fix the issue. If you are in country other than USA then just contact nearest US Embassy and they help you for getting FBI clearance in your country.

I had raised this issue in one of the earlier PCC threads. From the advices I got, it was better to get the PCC and not waste time just because you dont have 1 PCC. So I will be applying for the PCC when time comes.
