Hi, so this is my situation,

Got an email from cec saying my PR has been approved and I should pay the fee on July 9th.
I paid the fee on July 13th.

Now my work permit expires on Aug 5 and they have not even requested my passport yet.

What should I do now? BOWP or tourist visa or what? Please help me as I have only about 2 weeks left on my work permit and then my status expires.
Also can some share the approx timeline till I get my PR card.

Thanks!

Edit: sorry forgot to include an important detail, i am unemployed since the last 1.5 years. does this affect my BOWP application, is it still the best option?

Wait as long as possible before applying for BOWP. If you don't get passport request/passport back in time apply for BOWP and then withdraw BOWP application as soon as you get COPR - you'll get your money back.

I would apply for BOWP by paper and send them a money order(Don't pay with credit card) and also would send it by slowest post possible(should be traceable). If you get PPR for your PR, immediately send them an email and ask for cancellation of BOWP.

If you are from a visa exempt country you should get COPR any day now.
If you're not, you should get passport request any day now and then you'll have to wait for 1-3 weeks for it to be mailed back.

After that you have to land - if you can do it at the border (flagpole) then you can get it done as soon as you get COPR. If you can't you have to schedule landing (1-4 weeks wait time).

After you've landed you'll have to wait a bit over 3 months for PR card.

thanks for all the responses. sorry forgot to include an important detail, i am unemployed since the last 1.5 years. does this affect my BOWP application, is it still the best option?

If You approved for your PR you will get your PPR soon, BOWP processing will take months...
