please help regarding POF - Quick responses please

Hi Friends,

I am to request the bank to issue me a letter on my bank balance.
As I found out I need to get a letter from bank addressed to CHC statting the current balance in the account.

People also suggest attaching 3 or 6 months' statement. Is it OK to get the online bank statement to a text file and get it printed? Or do I need to ask the bank to provide 3 or six months statement on a letter head in addition to the letter stating the current account balance.

Should the statement run for 3 or 6 months.

I know there are lot of people on this forum who have submitted POF. Could you please share your experience.

I need some quick response as I am to get them today.

Better to get it done on the bank's letter head but if you cannot then send prints but with banks stamp and a letter explaining the reason for not providing it on letter head.

Yes get 3 months statement. Some times the IO would like to see the source of funds as well to make sure they are yours only.

Different Visa Offices do have very slight differences in what is asked. You should provide at least whatever you have been asked for by your own office, so if you have been asked to provide a 6 month statement then it must be a 6 month statement and not 3 month one. On the other hand if you have been asked for a 3 month one , you could provide a 6 month one if it works in your favour.

In my case when i was asked for a statement i had provided one for that whole year which worked out to be 9 months or so. The only reason i did so was to show the VO that i did have the required amount and had had it for sometime. Hence if you are in a similar position to do so then you should as it will not harm your case.
If you aren't , then you need to provide as has been asked of you by your particular office ie 3 or 6 etc.

I printed out my internet statements which i then got the bank to attest. Basically said " verified as correct " which was then signed , dated and stamped with the bank seal.

Should the bank letter contain my address too? The pass book contains my old address.

Yes, it should contain your current address, because this is the address you are going to provide for all papers. If you send the old statements (old address), when the time comes, you can always explain in the interview, it used to be your last address before the current one, not a big problem.

The stipulation is to get a bank certificate and not a bank statement.

You would need a letter issued by your bankers stating that you have the amount in your account. That is all they require.

Passbook and statements are really not required. Determining the source of funds is not something they would do.

What sort of identity information should the letter contain. Should it contain my passport number or national ID number ?

Just your name and address as per bank records, which should match the one on your passport.

Hello!
The bank statement that I got, was indicating only the current balance, I didn't mention 3 or 6 months turnover, they only mentioned that this person by the end of this day (they usually mention the balance for the last day, if you take for example on 1st of July, they will write by the end of 30 of June this person has this amount), I had 2 accounts, EUR and USD, so the mentioned both in one.
In the letter they wrote my name and surname, my passport details, and above they mentioned to whom I have to represent (Canadian Embassy in Moscow, RF), that's all.

If you do not have other ways, you can immediately deposit POF amount in your back account and sent it to local visa office.

It is not compulsory to be 3 months old balance, but bank account should be at least 3 month old.

Ah, yes I forgot to say, that they also mentioned since when I have this account ( I had this account since 2006 September)

Now please tell me how long this letter is valid. Is it OK if I send my full docs in two or three weeks' time.
Or do I have to submit docs immediately. I am still to receive my translations and POC (already received wife's POC).

It will be considered fresh bank statement for next 3 months.
No problem if you are going to send your full documents soon.
