You need to show liquid money that can be easily transferable.
House i don't think so buddy

hiii
irshad is right, chc new delhi dont accept property as transferable funds.you have to keep that amount till u get your visa.

Hey

I did not keep the safe amount since I initially submitted my application until about 1 year (Nov,2009) I finally had enough savings. Luckily in December, 2009, they requested proof of funds and I gave them two months bank statements with sufficient money. It then worked.
I applied at NY office.
Good luck with yours,

Most importantly kindly tell us which local visa office you have selected for processing. Accordingly your question can be answered.

hey thanx a lot guys... my local CIO is NEW Delhi...
FYI

SETTLEMENT FUNDS
Refer to the "Proof of Funds" section of our Web site for exact figures and
instructions.
Provide proof of unencumbered and readily transferable funds in a convertible
currency available for settlement in Canada (for you and your family members):
• current bank certification letter; or
• evidence of savings balance; or
• fixed or time deposit statements.

Dear friends,

I respect rocky's comments, and pay attention to his replies in most of the threads.. this is just to supplement his comment.

I am not sure about the current situation, but when I applied (that was 7 years back, guys !!) it was different. I had not have that much cash in my hand, so as advised by my consultant, I provided the value of our ancestral property along with bank statement to support my claim. (I submitted the value of the property, evaluated by Chartered Accountant and notarized by Notary Public). Consultant advised at that time that, it is possible to submit value of jewellery, car, land etc at the time of application.

It was just for filing the application. During the time of landing we need funds (Either in the form of cash, bank statements, Securities or Negotiable instruments in bearer form etc..), No tangible property allowed.

hey jerby... thanx for ur opinion, can i keep the property evaluation for proof of funds...$10,000 is lot of money to keep in account for many months i.e till i get the visa...

Dear Mithun,

Do you have a consultant? Before making a decision please consult with either them or experts like qorax in this forum. I have submitted my file with property valuation as a portion of required funds. Besides, you may have show some other means of funds also like bank statements..

Dear Mithun,

Earlier I was very active on discussion forums. But after getting visas , my blogs or suggestions reduced.

I hope you are working somewhere. You can also submitt Provident fund statements.
Go for a personal loan (ensure EMI should not be from ur salary account), make the FDRs from the loan amount. after visa arrives repay your loans.

Property can also be shown as proof of fund or not???

My father in law as a piece of land which is worth around 5 lakhs
so can this land be transferred in my husbands name and shown as
funds

Dear mithun,

Do not worry about the proof of fund....
Just fill the form and write in amount they required in CAD...i.e. $10,000

Do not show them proof of fund or any bank account till the stage of medical.

On the time of medical- last stage of visa approval, arrange liquid money in bank account and show them, after that it will take just 2 month to get permanent visa.

Do not show any property, show liquid amount in bank account....

Here is the case who get proof of fund request at the time of medical..

Here is the case who rejected because of not showing liquid money

Do not make mistake....

hi frnds!

my question is if someone has enough liquid funds to show,is there any need to show the other fixed assets or merely a bank statements would suffice?

Canadian embassy is not interested how much property/ car/ bungalow you have .....

If you show liquid money in bank account, it is enough to satisfy them....
