Hello guys,

To give you a little background of my work experience, I have been working for a position that falls under NOC B for about 8 months (30 hrs-37.5 hrs per week, not sure of how many hours worked against the total of 1,560 hrs), and I got an offer from a USA headquartered company operating in Canada. My question is if I were to work for this company, would I still be able to count the number of hours worked at this company for my CEC application? or my employer must be a Canadian corporation?

Thanks guys for taking the time to read my post, and any insights will be greatly appreciated.

yes you are, but you can apply only after 1 year and 1560 hours

If you are working full-time (defined by IRCC as "30 or more hours per week") then there is no need to count hours, you simply count weeks / years. 52 weeks = 1 year. Example: Say you work 60 hours per week - you cannot qualify in 6 months, you simply need to work for a year.

Canadian work experience is defined as working in Canada (following the rules of Canada). Ownership of the company is not an issue. You will (usually) need to show that you are getting paid in Canada, pay taxes in Canada, and have an Canadian (in Canada) supervisor who will write your letter of reference. The only way it would be an issue is if you were lone company representative in in Canada for a US company.
