I was a refugee claimant when I got married and applied for Permanent Resident through Spousal Sponsorship.
After 3 weeks I got married and applied for PR I received a notice to go attend virtual hearing on April 17,2021!
I attended the hearing and I received a positive decision after 1 week.
Now my question is: What’s my next step for Work Permit and SIN.Since in the notice of decision it’s a letter attached that says I have 45 days to apply for PR and for Medical Health care but I already applied for PR through my husband.
Any similar situation u been?
BTW I waited 3 years to get my hearing date!

I will withdraw the spousal sponsorship and apply for permanent residence as protected person.
You can as well ask immigration to transfer the processing fees that you paid for the spousal sponsorship to the new application.
They might say yes or No and ask you to pay a different processing fee Depending on when the application for spousal sponsorship was submitted.

But you are better of staying on the protected person status than the spousal sponsorship.

As for the work permit, you will still need to apply for the work permt until you become a permanent resident either through the spousal application or through the protected person before you dont have to apply for work permit anymore.

Thank you for your replay !! But,why you think that it’s better to stay on the protected person status?
