Hello I am Souvik from India. I have completed my graduation in English literature in 2018, and now I want to move to Canada. I know almost all the rules about how to get PR but I'm not very sure about what course to choose and the job prospects of those courses.
I visited some study abroad counsellors in my city like IDP, Blue Sky Education, Applycourses, etc. Most of them suggested me Public Relations and corporate communication course which is a post graduate diploma course of 1 year. They are telling me to do this 1 year course first then choose another course like digital marketing, social media marketing or anything of another one year, so that total (simultaneous) 2 years of study will give me up to 3 years of pgwp. They are suggesting me colleges like Seneca, Sheridan, Algonquin, Etc.
But the thing is since I am a non native English speaker with no work experience in the field and the course is of communication, I am not very sure how strong I stand a chance of getting a job. In fact I don't have a clear idea about what public relations job is.
So i want to know from you people about what course Should i choose to study in Canada and also should i study Public Relations as they suggested? Please help me out I am really anxious about it.
A little background on me: I am 23 now. I had passed my 12th in 2013 with science stream, and took admission in physics (hons) in college, but left the course because I didn't feel any interest in the subject. I took up English literate because I had a love for English literature and language. I really enjoyed my studies in my undergrads. I didn't really thought about the future then, my plan was to give competitive exams in India and do Indian government jobs, but as I grew older, i came to realise I want to move to Canada, make a life there on my own. So, I need your advice please help me out with your suggestions. Thank you.
