hey now.
my fiance lives in edmonton. after thinking i was going to be sponsored as a temporary foreign worker, i find out the guy who was gonna hire me never asked his boss and led me on. im a carpenter by trade, i have many tickets that can be valid in edmonton.
i need to work while my fiance plan our wedding, get married, and get the paperwork for her to sponsor me and to become a permanent resident. she has some medical problems and does go on medical ei, right now she goes to physiotherapy everyday of the week for 8 weeks at lifemark over at the meadowlark health center, but after the 8 weeks is up she can go back to work, but her health isnt the greatest because a doctor misdiagnosed her as having kidney disease and took out a kidney only to find out she has teathered cord and because of the many experimental surgeries she had as a kid they cant even do the surgery to fix teathered cord because it might leave her paralyzed. on top of that her other kidney is at 50%)
i am pleading with you all to help me. i had everything down pat. now i am just cold calling people for work and hitting dead end after dead end. i have my resume in with merit and other places, but they all require that i have a work visa already.
am i eligible for an open work permit? if we just get married can i get an open work permit easier so i can work while the residency paperwork is going through? i just want to be there to help her walk up the stairs, do the dishes, help her with stuff around the house and rub her back when she falls asleep so she can live in less pain. i love her so much. but the months are starting to pass and nothing is getting done.
ive tried cic and service canada, i cant find the information on open work permits anywhere.
