Hello Scylla, Bryanna, Canuck and all members,
I was wondering if you could guide me to improve my TRV application.
My TRV was rejected 2 times, on the first time I did not provide any documents apart from the invitation from my wife and a few financial support letters. Off course all the (not satisfying in leaving the country) boxes were checked.(I did not know much about the requirements back then)
A year later I applied for the second time, I had the following additional documents:
- Letter of employment - explanation of work visa being under process, acceptance of medical and ---- vacation leave letters from work. Asking for "Vacation leave" letter
- Purpose of travel ( commemorating our wedding with my in-laws
as we did not have them in our wedding)
- Medical leave for surgery after visiting Canada
- Doctor and hospital formal letters confirming the date and location of medical visit
- Visa approval from the country of the medical appointment for me and my wife
(my wife will be accompanying me back from Canada for the treatment)
- Our bank statements
- Table of daily activities and expenses in Canada for 14 days
- Status in country of residence- Social Visa( citizen of Yemen and
live in Malaysia for a long time now)
- Our itineraries to Canada and back to Malaysia then to the
country of the medical appointment.
- Travel insurance for 14 days in Canada.
- Income Proof
It was refused again, this time a one page letter explaining three factors was sent back:
- Family ties in Canada and country of residence: my strongest tie in Canada ( my wife, leaves Canada at the end of the visit with me).
So she would be considered a tie in the country of residence when we go back! plus my brother lives here and our family will be joining us and we would have to help them settle in Malaysia.
- Immigration Status in Country of residence: I have a social visa, my work visa will take time to process, and its explained by my workplace with a formal letter.
- Purpose of visit: we got married without the presence of our parents or family members, so we wanted to have our anniversary in Canada with my in-laws to commemorate our wedding and make it a special memory for us and for them.
I applied on the next day of receiving the rejection with detailed explanation of each mentioned factor, and we are currently awaiting the answer.
We thought something serious like an essential surgery would be a strong tie to leave Canada, and I won't be able to do it in Canada anyway, as I know the type of my surgery will not be covered by the Canadian government even if I were a permanent resident.
Also, I haven't found anything medical related as proof of leaving the country on this forum.
I strongly appreciate your advice and tips.
Have a good day
