Question 1
My International Experience Canada visa runs out on February 11th 2013. I am planning on paying the fees for common-law sponsorship by the 3rd of Feb and send off the application (inland) to Vegreville, which I live in Calgary so not too far. So meaning that I send it off on the 5th, I have no idea when they will receive it - will that cause trouble if my IEC visa runs out before they receive the application? or do i get implied status as soon as it's sent off?

Question 2
As written above, my work visa runs out real soon. I read somewhere that some people continue to work even after their visa expires? Is that allowed to do if i stay with the same employer as before? Or is it too risky!

Please please please help.

You should definitely send the application by courier. That way you can ensure it gets to the VO in time.

IECs cannot be extended. Unfortunately this means that you cannot keep working once your IEC visa expires unless your employer obtains an approved LMO and then you obtain a new work permit.

I cannot send it before the 5th of february unfortunately though. So with the IEC visa running out on february 11th won't mean i'm overstaying by any means? (in case they haven't received it by then)

If you send the application by courier (overnight delivery) it will arrive before the 11th.

So that means i won't overstay as long as i send it by courier? sorry just want everything clear before i take action. Thanks for your responses!

Hi Scylla,
Just throwing a question. If the application was received but returned due to missing documents, signatures, etc. I thought the implied status will no longer valid since the application will not be processed before the current status expires.
