Hello Everyone,

Can anyone give me a definite answer regarding this. I am so confused...

Last year in August I went back to my home country and stayed there for 3 weeks (August 7-28), during which I requested and got my PCC. The date on PCC is August 24, 2015 (few days before my departure date). I have never since entered my home country again.

So my question is, do I need to apply a new PCC when the time comes to apply my PR (assuming i won't go back to my home country again), or the one I have now which I got in August 2015 will suffice?

Thanks!!!

It will work as long as you do not visit that country again by the time you apply. But, to be on the safe side it is advisable to get a recent dated PCC.

My take on your situation is that you need to request a new PCC. The reason is that the PCC is only valid if it is issued after your last visit to that particular country. My assumption: you have lived 'more than 6 months or more' in your home country.

"For countries where you have lived for six months or more, the police certificate must be issued after the last time you lived in that country."

The reason why I got one when I went back for a visit is because I don't wanna have to go back again to get a pcc. I can ask my parents to get one for me, but i just don't want to bother them since they are not young anymore and it's a pain to go through those bureaucracy...

Why do they have to make this PCC so complicated and frustrating

Unfortunately per my earlier post, the regulations are established and if you want to get Canadian PR you have to comply. No choice unfortunately. If you apply with this current PCC there is a chance you will be rejected as it was not issued after the last time you visited your home country.

the link you provided didn't say last time you visited your home country, it says last time you lived in that country. Is there a difference?

Correction. I didn't realize that your PCC was dated before your exit date from the country. Unfortunately, you will get rejected if you apply with that PCC. You definitely need a new PCC.

what do you mean by my exit date from the country?

I left my home country to Canada in 2011, then i went back to my home country in Aug 2015 for 3 weeks to visit, got my PCC, and never been back to my home country. Shouldn't my last time that I lived in the country be 2011? Not 2015?

And the more i think about it, the more it doesnt make sense.

Unless IRCC expect you to get PCC of all the countries that you have lived for more than 6 months or more online. Otherwise, if you go back to those countries to get PCC, the date on PCC will never be after the date you leave that country.....

Im so lost :'(

You do not have to go back to your country to get a PCC. You can always apply with your existing PCC. Lately there have been a lot of rejections because of PCC that is the reason it is always advisable to get it after you depart from the country. Do you mind me telling which country are you from?

China.

I cannot apply my PCC online. If I want to get a new PCC, then my mom has to do it for me in person. And I really don't wanna trouble her since she's not young and not in good health.

That sucks. I just read only your immediate family members can do it on your behalf.
