PLEASE HELP CAQ

Dear All.

I really need your help, I was accepted to a master degree at McGill University for Fall 2014 and I already got my admission letter with a founding of 18K/annual.
My husband is trying to get into some Quebec universities but for term Winter 2015. So meanwhile he is going to study an English course until he gets an offer from one of those universities.
My question is, I'm applying to CAQ permit and they ask is I am going to travel with somebody, but it suppose that he needs to make the same operation too, but I'm worried because our savings are mixed for both of us, how could I prove that I can pay the expenses and he too?

Maybe is a better idea, if he just travel with me as husband and once he will get there he try to get the permission?

In both situations, you need to show the same amount of CAD 17,342 minimum.
