Is getting out of Phil so much difficult after getting the visa also??
I guess then this would be a special case for Phil only and not other countries like INDIA.
R u from India?
The OEC requirement only applies to Philippine nationals exiting the Philippines as overseas workers ...

@ragluf
@ ismailhiggy

thanks for the information.
I didn't knew that.
But while discussing with my employer and lawyer, I had told them clearly that I would visit my home town and then will come to Canada. They didn't raise any concern. But still I have a friend who recently went TORONTO. He processed his work permit from Malaysia. I would ask him and update in the forum. Also in the supplementary form I have mentioned the same.

yeah it will be helpful to get his feedback.

DEAR, its really hard to exit from philippines if you will go overseas as a working, unlike India that you can go in and out easily, Philippines has this procedures which [@RAGLUF above mentioned; So you have the visa already.

As long as you have completed your exit process from KSA and have obtained all the clearances you can take a break in the PH and from there fly to Canada.

Please note however, at exit in the PH, you will be a departing TFW - thus you may have to comply with POEA requirements for departing foreign workers - OEC, PDOS, etc.]

the airport immigration will hold you in the airport without all those proper documentations specially OWWA (overseas workers welfare) and PODS (Philippine overseas departure seminar) and it will takes time and ques.. plus fees...

better to exit in KSA rather than phils.

Hi,

May I know what are the process you did in Philippines before going to Canada? My case is the same as yours, I also have my visa now, and I am also thinking of spending my vacation in Philippines with my family before going to Canada, in Toronto.

I need your advice, please.

Many thanks,

Hi,

I suggest if you're working outside Philippines and you're current working visa is still valid when you go to the Philippines before going to Canada just apply your OEC (Balik Manggagawa) with the same employer even you have canadian visa. Just tell them (POEA officer) that you'll be returning to the same employer and you need to finish your contract with them (I guess you're not coming back with the same employer). You need to buy a ticket from the country which you're working right now going to Canada. At least you don't have so much pain to get your OEC.

Good luck :)

hi @ragluf, just want to ask your advise on this;

I'm applying for a TRV in abu dhabi CEM from kuwait last 24 Nov 2012 and haven't got reply from the embassy up to now.
My question is can i wait my application in my home country Philippines and exit from there in going to Canada? Please your
advise is greatly appreciated, thanks a lot in advance :)

The main thing you need to exit the PH with a worker visa is the OEC. To get the OEC however - this is where you need to provide all of those POEA requirements. :(.

You may want to give POEA a call, or have someone to find out how you can get the requirements done.
Also - I believe there is a thread here for this already....you can search for it.

Hi,

It would be better if you can wait for the results of your TRV application first from ADVO (Abu Dhabi Visa Office) rather than going home and waiting for the results. Did you apply via the online method or submitted the application to ADVO? One complication that may arise is most likely you put in your mailing address as the one you have now and if you move/change mailing addresses or any contact information, you need to update the VO handling your application (if your mailing address changes to PH for example). Should there be added requirements from you, official correspondence (numbered documents) is sent to a mailing address.

If you have a TRV and your purpose of going to Canada is as a visitor, not as a worker, OCW/TFW exit rules do not apply (no need for OEC, PDOS etc.). These rules/requirements only apply if you are exiting the PH as a worker (i.e. carrying a worker visa).

Also, if you are applying for a TRV (visitor) then the processing time seems overly long now if you applied last year Nov 2012. Did you apply for a work permit or just a TRV (temporary resident visa) as a visitor?

/hope this helps...
