Please Help!! Biometrics Request - Using only Canadian License

Dear All,

I have just received a request for biometrics and currently only have my Canadian driver's license available (my passport is being renewed)..on the biometrics request letter it says to bring "the Passport or Travel Document that you referenced in your application", does anyone have experience successfully completing biometric using only license or other non-passport forms of ID?
If I'm given a hard time at Service Canada when doing the appointment are there any advice on how to talk with them to complete a biometrics?
Any similar experience would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you very much!

Service Canada won’t complete the biometrics without the travel document connected to your application.

“You need to bring this letter when you give your biometrics.

You also need to bring your valid passport.”

They aren’t giving you a “ hard time “, they are following the rules set by the IRCC
A DL is not a travel document.

can it wait until you get your passport?
if not, use webform to ask for more time. renewing passport is a valid reason. without travel document (must be the same for application) you cannot give biometrics.
