Hi everybody!

We're in the process of applying PR outland. I just want to ask all the people here that may know cases that are similar with ours.
I know that they are no minimum income requirement for PR application but in our case the sponsor ( my husband) is living and working in Malaysia for the past 12 years. We have 2 children and they're canadian ( we got their citizenship certificate and passport). Do we need to proof our income to support ourselves in Canada once I got PR?
We plan to sell our apartment and also my dental clinic here in Malaysia before we go and use the money to support ourselves in Canada. But I cannot proof that when I'm applying because I can't sell the apartment and the clinic now.
We don't have that much saving. So our bank statements will have our salary and withdrawals. Is that enough?
We're going to stay at my mother-in-law's place for a few months till my husband can find a job. We already ask her to write a notarized letter stating that. Is that enough?
How can we show them that we can support ourselves once we get to Canada? Please give me your inputs and thoughts. Thanks.

Seems like you have done everything necessary. As long as you provide a detailed plan of your intentions on how you will support yourselves you should be fine. Personally I would write a cover letter including the letter from his parents stating that you plan to sell the business and apartment. If you have made any enquiries about this with agencies that would assist with the sale you could include those as proof but explain that you cannot start this process at the moment. If he has made any job enquiries already you could also include that correspondence. I think they key is showing intention and a clear plan. CIC realise that people cant drop everything when they apply. The fact you also have Canadian citizenship and passports for your kids should also be a good sign. Good luck with the application!

I am in the same situation I'm Canadian living aboard with two kids and Husband who applied for PR. My husband has just received decision made in ECAS. no questions asked about money or how we will support ourselves in Canada. However I did include a letter from my dad and wrote a letter of our plans to live with my parents until we find jobs and a home of our own. I am sure all will be fine with you as well.

Canadian fairy, was the letter from your parents notarized? I am asking friends and family to do the same for me and need to inform them. thank you.

Canadian Fairy, did you provide bank statement with the application?

I sent one in I think but that was to show that we were both listed on the account.

Thanks canadianfairy. Maybe just give them to show his salary every month. Another question..I studied in Canada before so should I request for police clearance from Canada?

no CIC will do their RCMP check themselves.

my husband did a working holiday visa before we married in Canada and didn't include a police check from Canada.
