Please HELP an international applying for TR to PR

I was granted study permit to come to Canada on September 2018 but I received my visa late and couldn't make it to Canada until October 2018 by then I had paid a deposit to the university and they said I could join again in January. I came in October to take the chance to take the calsses but by then it was too late so from Nov-december I worked part time and full time hours here and there. I recently found out that you couldn't Strat working before starting your first semester. What should I do about this?
