Please give advice, im lost in all immigration programs

Hello.

I am 31 years old and have Secondary school diploma with carpenter profession.
I have about 2 years experience in carpentry for past 5 years, but at the moment im working for sales representative in other company.

I am from Latvia ( Europe union )



I have lost in all available programs such as ( Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and other Pilot programs )

Maybe someone can give advice what to do ?
Do i need lawyer ? I have hired lawyer but we just talked about basic things for 200$/h not any solution from his side.

Hope someone can give advice.

Carpentry would be a Skilled Trade, so look into that direction. As a sales representative, that would fall into the Skilled Worker class managed by Express Entry, but without a bachelor’s degree at your age, your chances are very slim. PNPs for sales reps are pretty bleak. That lawyer only talked to you for your money.

Not for Express Entry, no. Skilled Trades does not check education, I believe. You’ll also have to look at other programs or PNPs that may target carpenters or do not put an emphasis/rating on education.

The problem is that you will be missing good amount of points without post secondary studies (like Univeristy for example).

But there is good chance for skilled trades.

They do app. 2-3 draws a year just for skilled trades. So you need to have at least 1 year of work experience in that.
In addition you can aslo try to go with Working holiday first and then try to immigrate for good.

If you choose this road maybe try to avoid Ontario (where Toronto is), Quebec (Montreal), BC (the province with Vancouver) and I would even say Alberta (Calgary)

Maybe try instead Saskatchewan or Manitoba or maybe Nova Scotia.

Why do I say this, because 1 year of any work experience in any of those 4 provinces mentioned above might not be good enough to get through their PNP.

Usually there are not other special requirements. Exceptions are certain licenses dealing with gas or electricity. There you are also proving that you have some years of work experience apart of school diploma.

So because of such system it is much easier to start in trades.

I have heard of that. You have to be mentored for several years though don't you?

School does that. They have their labs where people train and some (more and more) have special partnerships with some companies. Company will get a student worker for very cheap and in exchange student will learn more about real life.
After that it is up to company to shape the fresh graduate.
