Friends, I am planning to apply for CEC but found that my wife's passport has her Mother's name incorrectly spelled. There is one additional letter in her mother's last name. She did not get time to this so far has applied for her visitor visa, work permit with that incorrect name and had no problem.

It is not possible to correct her mother's name on the passport now as she has to get it done in the home country and not possible in Canada. Is this going to be a problem for CEC application?

I would use the name that is written in passport to avoid any issues

No. It won't be any problem. You can proceed with your application with whatever name figures on the passport.

There wont be any problem as such for this PR application.
But, in future, when planning for a visitor visa for the parents, at that time, you need the proof to justify the name...
