hi i have an urgent question!

I have applied for my PR under cec in august 2014. and I'm currently in canada as a temp resident.

I wanted to know is it ok for me to go back to my home country or should i stay in canada till i get my pr.

I ask this because firstly i haven't done my medical yet but that shouldn't be an issue as i can give an upfront one and leave.

But what bothers me is that if i leave does my application still get processed here or does it go to my home country visa office which i know will take forever to process . also how would they determine that I have left.

Please advise .

You can leave Canada and return when ever you want provided you have valid Permit and Visa. You can do the medicals any where in the world by the panel approved doctors. You application will be still processed in canada only since u r not gng to change ur address

i have a valid temp resident permit but it says it does not guarantee re entry.. so i don't think ill be able to come back on that basis. but do you think ill be able to send my passport from my home country for the landing visa?

I have the exact same question!

My application is currently in process too, my partner and I received our MR in August, did it, we received the RPRF request shortly after and now we are awaiting our PPR.

Assuming that our application is finally approved and they request our passports, but we are no longer in Canada, would we be required to send them to Ottawa or to the local Canadian Consulate in our country?

Thanks,

Did you apply for your pr from within canada? Also where did u give ur medical?

Yes, I applied for my application within Canada. The medicals were done here as well and the results were sent to the CIC office in Ottawa.

once you get passport request.. u would have to request cic by email to change the visa stamping office to the one nearest to your location in ur country of residence.

Yes. If you want, you can inform on address change.
(It is good to keep Canada address for communication)
At the time of COPR, you are asked to where the stamping can be done, so you can decide on responding to them based on your whereabouts at that time. 8)

No, if you leave you are required to inform CIC and provide a new address.

You can request a change of visa office if you want. But unless you're from India (or another country that prohibits mailing of passports), you can finish processing at CIC-Ottawa and just courier your passport to CIC when the time comes.
