Please advise !! BOWP when my work permit is valid for more then 4 months

Hello,

I am feb 2014 applicant. I received my AOR on 5th March 2014 and since then never really got any reply from CIC. My work permit is expiring on 23rd July and I was thinking to apply for BOWP just incase CIC rejects my application. so my inquiry is:
1. Can I still apply for BOWP when my work permit is not expiring within 4 months? (I was trying to apply last night and it was letting me do it without any issue.)

2. did anyone successfully got BOWP when they applied before their current work permit expiring date is more then 4 months?

yes i have got my BOWP when my exisitng WP expiry date was more than 6 months. I applied in august 2014 when my WP expiry was Jan 2015. I just attach a covering letter saying that "though my current work permit is going to expire in jan 2015 but my employer do not have projects to keep me in canada and i have to go back to my home country. Where as i want to stay in canada till my pr decision. so to support my family i need to look for a job in canada for that reason i need BOWP."

you received work permit for a year or two years? and what was the date on Work permit? was it when they issue or was it when you expired old one and start from there to one year? because my work permit is expiring in August 21, 2015. should i apply now or wait for a month?

Ans: for one year

Ans : it was from the date my BOWP got approved i.e from august 2014 and it was valid for one year i.e aug 2015. that time my existing WP one was valid till jan 2015.
because my work permit is expiring in August 21, 2015. should i apply now or wait for a month?
Ans: I would say if you have no issues like employer would try to send back earlier etc. then you can apply now with a covering letter as i mentioned in this post. else wait for a month and apply. My work permit is getting expired in august 2015 so i am planning to apply some time in may 2015.

thanks for fast reply but as a proof what should i send to them for AOR? and what other documents they need? I'm not even good in writing explanation letter. how you did?

you should wait for the AOR. without AOR you can't get your BOWP. if you think you are going to get it in another 10-15 days then send paper application not online. since paper application processing time is slow so by the time they open your application you may have got your AOR and they will know based on you client id (UCI)
My covering letter was something like given below

Subject: - Request for BRIDGING WORK PERMIT (Open Work Permit) on basis of my Permanent Residence Application Number - XXXXXXXX– under Canadian Experience Class.
Dear Sir / Madam,
I’ve uploaded all necessary forms & supporting documents for my Bridging Open Work Permit.
My PR application was applied in XXXX & I’ve received my PR application number i.e. XXXXXXXXX.
My current contract with XX is coming to an end as of XX & I am looking for new job in market. My present work permit will expire on XX. Therefore I would need another open work permit to continue looking for another opportunity in Canada and serve my new employer on the basis of BRIDGING WORK PERMIT till decision is made for my PR status.
Presently I do not have any clarity about my new job / employer therefore I’ve not mentioned any particular employer name, intended work location details in section “Details of Intended Work in Canada – point 2 A & B” of form IMM5710.
