hello guys and senior members,

Please guide me regarding an issue. I have already applied for my PR for Canada as my wife was holding PR before marriage. I am waiting for the visa to be issued. I had submitted our passports in Feb. this year. All the documentation is done on my part and the background checking remains in my case as I had spent 8 months in New Zealand prior to putting up my caase for PR Canada.
What would be the status of my case incase I have my sibling added as a member in my family? Would I have to declare it incase my visa is issued before the date of delivery?

Immaterial, since you can't add a sibling to a sponsorship application nor a skilled worker application.

Do you mean you forgot to write your brother or sister's name in the list of family members on your original application? If you have made errors it would be a good idea to correct them as there could be problems if your sibling ever wishes to persue PR in the future and you have not included their name in your application. They will not be able to claim points for you as a family member in Canada. Include a cover letter of explanation for your error as well as the updated form. I do not know how this would impact the status of your case at this point.
I think what PMM is saying is that siblings are not considered dependants (that would be spouse and your OWN children).

What I understand from his post is that he has a new sibling born in his family which he wanted to inform CIC, or not?.
Please correct Sam if I am wrong.

+1 for Wilson, clever clogs!! 8) My eyes glossed over the last sentence so I interpreted it as "delivery" of the Visa. I don't know how one could inform CIC before there is a named, living sibiling. If the date of birth occurs that close to the visa issue date, I am sure the authorities would understand why the sibling's name was not included in the original application.

Thanks a lot Pippin.
Logically you are correct Pippin if Sam intended that.

yes pippin is on right track. the sibling is yet to be born.
As the visa has not been issued to me so i am not able to understand my position. i want to know if it would affect my visa application.?
please guide me in this regard

I don't see how your parents choosing to have another child could affect your visa application which you earned on your own merits. You are not bringing this child into the country with you as he/she is not your dependant. In the future, if your parents and their remaining dependants wish to immigrate with the required points, it will be evident that this child was unborn when you applied and could not have been included in your list of siblings. I am not an authority on immigration, but it just seems logical that it should have no impact on YOUR application. Good luck!
