Plans for Inland Spousal Sponsorship --- please advise

Hello everyone. I'm getting married soon and my husband-to-be is a permanent resident in Ottawa. We're trying to get everything figured out for the wedding and want to apply for inland spousal sponsorship. And I wanted to ask for advise and opinion on the matter so that I can get prepared accordingly...

We met back in 2007 in Abu Dhabi through common friends and have been friends on Facebook since 2008. We lost contact a bit until February 2015, when we started chatting and decided to try a long distance relationship. I was a student in France then, and he was working in Ottawa and applying for his PR.
We are both Turkish citizens, he moved to Canada as a university student and has been living there ever since, and I had a French resident card since my mother is European and lives there.
I moved to Istanbul for work in September 2015 and have been here ever since. We visited each other about every 3-6 months. Ever since June 2015, we saw each other about 9 times (He came to Turkey, I went to Canada, we went to Madagascar and France...).

Now we're going to start planning the wedding and whatnot, but I'm a bit concerned. We wanted to keep things simple and get married in city hall (with friends and family) and skip the traditional bits.
In Turkish culture, if you are a believer, you go to the Mosque and get a religious wedding. But I don't believe in it so I'm going to skip it.
Usually before the wedding there is something called a "kına gecesi", which is some sort of bachelorette party where the bride wears fancy clothes and there's music and they burn henna in her hand. As someone who grew up in French schools and culture, I don't see the need in doing it so I want to skip that as well.
The wedding is 2 parts that can be done as one: the ceremony where you say yes and get legally married, and then the ceremony where you just have fun. We wanted to just have the legal ceremony as the latter is quite expensive.

I don't want to be a pessimist and think about the bad stuff, I'm just worried that our decisions will be misunderstood during our application. I'd be very happy if you guys could give me advise on what to do and what to expect so that I can prepare myself accordingly.
We are hoping to get married by this summer so that I can move to Canada (as a visitor with intention to apply for inland sponsorship) and apply by Fall.

Hi! I do not think CIC will misconstrued this information. I am an Indian Catholic, and my husband is Jewish. You would think that we would have a big wedding as traditional big Indian/Jewish weddings. However due to his family issues, and my parents unable to come to Canada, we did a court marriage. It was small and simple, we had 30 of our close friends and relatives.

My parents were finally able to travel to Canada, so we had another reception for them and their friends in Canada. Again comparatively small, we had around 60 people. Because of my husband's family not supporting our relationship, we decided to have small ceremonies. If his parents/siblings supported maybe this would be a different story.

I highly suggest you explain to them why you are doing a small ceremony. In our paperwork we mentioned that we would be throwing a reception when my parents were coming. But we also explained that we would like to invest some of the money towards our 1st house/condo purchase.
