Hi there,
My partner and I are wanting to move to Canada permanently. We are both living in australia and will be getting married in about 3 months time. He is a Canadian citizen and has permanent residency here.
Will he be able to sponsor me to move to Canada? I am worried that I wont be given permanent residency and will have to leave. We will be staying with his family in Toronto who will help us financially as well.
Any advice?

Barring any major issues; criminal past, bankruptcy, etc, then yes.

I am worried that I wont be given permanent residency and will have to leave

Why are you worried? As long as your relationship is genuine and provide enough supporting proof, it should be a breeze.

Any advice?

Apply outland. Tempting as it may be to apply inland for an OWP, it'll be many many times faster applying outland. Sydney is one of the fastest VO's in the world, 4-5 months for a straightforward case.

Provide good quality proof.

Ask questions, there's lots of member here to help; but please consolidate your questions into as few threads as possible. Much easier to keep track of who's answered what that way :)

Thanks for answering, I'm only worried as we both don't have jobs here or heaps of savings (I am on disability pension). He will get work in Canada once we move up there, but I wont be able to get a job until i get PR. Our relationship is definitely genuine, been together 2 years in September and engaged for 1 year in June, we are only going to have a registry wedding here so we have more money when we get to Canada to support ourselves as much as we can without his family helping too much. We will apply outland as we are both in Australia and wont be going over until we know our application is approved.

Start early. I was amazed at how long it took to get all the paperwork together. For example, my US police certificate took 3 months and the earliest medical I could get was 2 months away. There were loads of delays like this that I didn't anticipate.
