Question about airfare ...

HHW (Home SUpport Worker) approved for primary applicant along with her spouse (open work permit) and 7-yr old minor child (visitor visa). Will the minor child on visitor visa require a return ticket when the child travels? Is one-way ticket enough?

No. But child may need a study permit to attend public school.
