I'm wondering if the picturs need to have a date on the front , or if i scan the back which has the date on it , it's enough ?

You don't need to scan the back of your passport photo. The front without the date is okay.

Are you asking for submitting the photo for your eAPR?
Then you don't need to worry about having date on that photo, since you will only need to upload digital/soft copy of only the front side.
And this photo doesn't need to have date on it. Just upload a photo without a date on it.

The specifications such as date, photographer's details etc are required for the photo for the PR cards once you land in Canada.
