If you are asking about the passport style photos, it depends on your country specific instructions. So check your guide. If the question is about relationship evidence photos, there is no specific number, but I recommend including several, especially those that show you and your partner with each other's family and/or friends. Also include some that show the passage of time and special events like weddings, family reunions, birthdays, and travel together.

You're talking about the "immigration photos"? The London guide specifies 4, so that's what you should send. There will also be one already attached to the medical page.

Reading on about the family class sponsorship it states that I will need to send 8 photos of myself not 4?

Supply eight (8) recent photos for each member of your family and yourself. Follow the instructions
in your guide (see Photos in section on completing the Application for Permanent Residence in
Canada) and in Appendix B: Photo Specifications.

I am being sponsored as a Spouse.

Is this correct for 8 pics?

If there is conflicting information (seems to happen a lot) send the higher number. They sometimes ask for more pictures later and that can cause delays that you don't want.
