Is anyone else having a hard time getting these done to specification, especially for toddlers?

If the photos aren't right will the whole application get rejected outright?

The application will not be rejected only for the difference in toddler's photo.The visa office could ask for new photos when the passport request time comes. Any how, try to get the photo done from a reputed studio. Their photographer may know some tricks to keep the children calm for few seconds to get their good still photos. .

I've had several photographs taken of my family that have wrong head size, shadow over eye, wrong angle etc.
The head size thing is a problem as it isn't the same as passport photos here.

The shops always say "we guarantee to take them again if they are rejected" which is no good if it causes FSWP to be rejected months down the line

We're going to visit a proper studio place this week and see if we get more joy.
