Hi,

If you cannot see the required number of photos in the guide/checklist with your application package, then you need to supply eight photo's with your application. Keep another four to take with you when you have your medical done. Your photos should comply with the size requirements as stated in your regional guide. CIC is very strict on these requirements.

Your wife ( sponsor) doesn't need to supply any photos.

You don't have to provide any pay slips.

thank you very much. The application does say 8 but, i thought this might be including all the medical pictures as well.
the 8 photos do I have to get them certified? thanks for you help

The 8 photos for the application are separate and apart from the 4/5 needed for the medical.

They do not need to be certified, you are to put your name and DOB on the back of one of them only.

Hey there... about the photos.. I seen that it said to provide 8 photos... So I took my wife to a photo place and asked for them to give 8 copies... later.. I took her to get her medicals done... they took 4 photos away.. which left 4 loose to include in my package.. 1 of the photos was stapled and stamped to provide proof of Medical Test.. the other 3 photos were never given back and attached to other sheets that will eventually be sent to my Vienna processing center... I was worried that the sheet said 8 photos and I only had 4 loose photos.. So I decided to take 1 photo to a Photo processing place and got them to make 4 more identical size copies.. Which they did... The contrast of the copies is the slightest bit off of the original.. but still the photo is identical... I called CIC call centre and asked them if it was ok for me to send another 4 copies of the photos to have a total of 8 loose photos.. she said that there was nothing wrong with that.... I assume that they would have asked for 12 photos if they know Medical tests would use up 4 of them... Either way.. better cover my butt and just give them extra... can't hurt... If anything it might show them that you are genuinely trying your best to provide all the things they request... It was good piece of mind making copies.. now I know I did everything that I could.

I included 8 photos w/ my husbands application.

It is always safe side if you keep some extra prints of photos with you. It can be used at any time. Some visa offices return the unused photo's together with the passport.

When I got my photos done, I (for some reason!) got extra. They had an 8-print package and a 12-print package, and I guess I just figured that getting only 8 would be a little short-sighted, especially since I recalled it saying somewhere that you weren't allowed to have photos printed at different times -- they had to all be printed at the same time from the same image and by the same person/store/print shop. Good thing, too, as when I went for my medical, the (lovely) doctor said, "Oh you got extra! That's good -- they always seem to ask applicants for more and more and more. I don't know why they tell you you only need 8!" Better safe than sorry, I think I ended up using ALL of mine!

and make sure your ask for the white background, if it comes out grey ask them to take it again as they wont acept them if the background is not white. :)
