Hai to all...

My hubby is sponsoring our 3 month old baby and he has sent the appln. on may 19th (SPONSORSHIP NOT YET APPROVED). We took photos of our baby when he was a month old and in that it was very difficult to make his face normal as he was crying at that time. So in the photos he was not seeing straight and he was seeing at his right side and also his face looked like he was crying. I am bit worried as the instructions in CIC website pointed out the photos should be in their specified format.

Will they ask us retake the photos or will they not consider it because he was only a baby when the photo was taken?

Also, we didnt get attestation from notary public for the photo copies of documents we sent them. Will it be really necessary to do it? Will they ask us to resend the docs.? Will this cause time delay?

please clarify as we already took much effort in sending the appln. package and it will be really diificult to do everything again. :(

You should be fine i cant expect anyone would expect a one month old to sit still for pictures, they are more concerned about the birth certificate and medical of the child than pictures.
And the only docs that have to be original are police and medical the others you can copy and that you didnt get them notorized well you will have to wait to see if they accept them or ask for others.
They are suppose to be notorized.

This is up to the discretion of the visa officer.

If the instructions for India state that the photocopies must be notarized, then you should have done it. But visa officers will sometimes accept things that are not quite according to regulations.

For both of these questions it really depends on the visa officer.

Thanks iarblue for your opnion i really pray that everything goes fine without any delay.
canadianwoman,

thanks for your reply and as you said everything depends on the visa officer and also there was no instruction to notarize photocopies as far as my knowledge is concerned. please pray that our appln. should get approved.

If the instructions didn't say the photocopies had to be notarized, then you're OK.
As for the baby's photo - even if they don't accept it, they won't reject the application because of it. They'll just ask for new photos to be taken.

Curious how he's sponsoring.. if it is his baby then I was told by CIC that they wouldn't be allowed to sponsor their own children and a certificate of citizenship is the correct form to use. (thanks to HeatherUSA for telling me that too!:)

I found something in the application guide 3900 that stated "Generally, if you are a Canadian citizen born or naturalized in Canada, your children born outside of Canada are citizens by birth and it is not necessary or possible to sponsor them. You should instead apply for proof of citizenship." and CIC replied saying - Yep., that's the process.

can_usa_97,

did i mention anywhere that my hubby is a CANADIAN CITIZEN?
my husband and me are PR holders and he is NOT A CANADIAN CITIZEN YET. so i think he can sponsor our baby.

also, he got his sponsorship approved today and file is tranferred to ND visa office.

You did not, nor did I imply you had. I was merely passing along the information I had and ASKING how you were sponsoring, because you did not indicate so.

Happy to hear his sponsorship was approved.
