Hi - would be grateful if someone could tell me whether photography is classed as a cultural activity in the context of self employed visas. I hadn't considered it as an option to pursue, but it's something I've made a (very) modest income from in the past (while self employed in another role entirely) and it may be an additional string to my bow that I could explore. Any info would be appreciated.

Also posting on the subject of ECA providers today.

Many thanks.

If you are a photographer who is a recognized name in the industry - then yes. Otherwise - no.

Yes, Photography is a cultural activity and can be qualified for the Self-Employed Category. It will take detail study of the case, instead of just shooting a "
yes" and "no" answer, but vaguely, if you have a good portfolio and we can prove that you can becomes a successful self-employed photographer in Canada, then you should pursue this route. It also depends on who or how you present your application to the immigration officials, it is not a simple form filling application ! You have to prove to the immigration officer that you will be successful in becoming economically established in Canada.
