Thanks Anac, however in the Upload file section "document checklist" , the instruction shows as below

Frame Size:

The final frame size of the photo must be at least 35mm x 45mm.
The photographs must show a full front view of the head and tops of shoulders, with the face in the middle of the photograph.
The size of the head, from chin to crown, must be between 31mm and 36mm.
Digital dimensions are often expressed in pixels or DPI (dots per inch). The physical dimensions in pixels must be at least 420 x 540.
Quality/resolution:

If an existing photo is being scanned, the minimum resolution must be 600 pixels per inch.
File Format:

The file may be submitted in JPEG or JPEG2000 format.
The final size of the image should ideally be 240 kB (kilobytes), but not less than 60 kB.

There is much confusion about post ITA digital photo and physical photo for PR purpose. Specifically for post ITA digital photo submission, upload a photo with any ratio of 35x45 (same as 420x540) with the size of the head, from chin to crown, between 69-80% of the photo height (31-36 mm of 45 mm height).

Although uploading different size will not result with PR refusal.

If it helps, I got a jpg copy of the photo from the photo studio along with the printed copy according to the required specifications in the EE guide.

I uploaded the jpg image in the digital photo upload section. I used the software Irfanview to edit the photo so that it conformed to the required dimensions, pixels, and size.

Then, I scanned the front and backside (name/address of the studio and date) of the printed photo and uploaded the scan in the optional documents section.

Really "backside (name/address of the studio and date) of the printed photo" is required to Scan and Upload? I just submitted only the Photo front side

Anyone please confirm, backside of the photo is required for Upload?

I didn't upload the backside either, I think it is only required to send it with your passports to get your COPR, after PPR.

Do we really need to take the photograph at a studio for the PPR/COPR? I've taken it on my own at home and it's the perfect size and spec!

CIC requires one photo to have the studio's name and address and the date it was taken, so I don't think you can do it at home

Requirement only for photos sent for purposes of PR card. Not for EE and COPR photos.

Probably not required for the eAPR as others have mentioned. I did it just to be on the safe side because the digital photo section in EE guide links to this: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf -- read the last paragraph.

I think it is required when you send your photos for the PR card, though.
