Hi Everyone! just wanna ask about one of the requirements for Live-in Caregiver Program in Canada..

--Since I am a Registered Nurse here in the Philippines, do I still have to complete/ undergo for a six-month caregiver training course or take other exams to qualify/ certify me as a caregiver?

--I had a one year full time paid work experience as a Staff Nurse in a Community Hospital, and since it is a community-based hospital our salary is below minimum wage wherein we don't have to pay our taxes/ contributions mandatory such as in SSS and PhilHealth. My concern is, does the Canadian embassy look for proof of income such as in SSS/Philhealth? or they only look for a certificate of employment?

Can anyone answer my queries please?? thank you in advance! :) :D
your help is much appreciated, God Bless! ;D

No you don't need undergo 6 months training your being RN is sufficient.

You need to chose one only either
-Proof of successful completion of a minimum of six months of full-time training in a classroom setting in a field or occupation related to the job offered in Canada,
OR
-One year of full-time paid employment within the last three years, including at least six months of continuous employment with one employer in a job related to the prospective employment in Canada.

If your caregiver-related work experience was within the Philippines, you need to submit, along with your employment certificate(s), proof of your employer's contributions to the Social Security System and/or Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, as issued by SSS and/or PhilHealth.

So I still have to secure my employer's contributions to my SSS/PHILHEALTH/TIN?that would be my biggest problem for my future application, because my employer didn't contribute any of those .. So my one year-full paid work experience is totally useless without those proof of contributions even though I can submit my certificate of employment? Oh my!What do I do now?? Is the Canadian Embassy really strict with those proof of contributions, do they really need and check those? As what you've mentioned in your response, I can only choose on either of the two, so if I didn't choose the one-year full paid work experience because I cannot secure my contributions in SSS/Philhealth/TIN and I prefer the other option, given that I am a registered nurse and you've said it is sufficient enough, would it be okay if I'll just take the 6-month care giving program so that I would be qualify? Or Is there any suggestions u can make to help me with my concerns? I'm so devastated, I don't know what to do now..thank u so much!

Good afternoon! Im new here.just wanted to ask i am a nurse and physical therapist as well, do i need to take the caregiver assessment exam? Thank you

I had two years experience as a registered nurse, i then worked in a call center for 6 mos. I already have my LMIA from my employer. Will it cause problems if i resign in the call center now?

1. I wouldn't resign until you get your LOE from the visa office approving the work permit, a LMIA is no guarantee that the work permit will be issued.

Thanks for responding. But is it okay if i resign from the call center and find a job as registered in the hospital again? I might have a three- week gap of unemployment
