Hi there,

I am graduating this semester from a DLI in Quebec, and I'm not so sure I meet the requirements for the PGWP, since my situation is quite complicated.

Would someone be able to help me about this?

I was first a student in a university in France, and did a semester of exchange in the DLI.

After my exchange, I got admitted into the DLI as a regular student. When I was admitted, I transferred 45 credits from my university in France, and I also had 12 more credits from my exchange program.

I stayed 2 years as a student in the DLI, thus completing 63 credits.
My program only requires 90 credits, but I have completed 120.
To be clear, 63 of those are from my time here as a full-time student, 12 are from my time here as an exchange student and 45 of them are transfer credits from France.

Am I eligible to apply for the PGWP?

Thank you so much for your help!

How long is the program you actually graduated from? How many of the credits were used to meet the requirements for completion of this program. Why did you complete 30 extra credits?

Hi, thank you for your reply!

My program requires 90 credits, so 3 or 4 years.

I completed 120 credits because a lot of my transfer credits didn’t meet the requirements, and I also added a minor.

I stayed two years in the DLI in Canada in total, without counting the exchange which lasted one semester.

Otherwise I stayed 1 year and a half in France.
