PGWP to Visitor help.

Hi,

I am a june 2015 spousal sponsorship applicant(New Delhi VO). Got my AOR1, AOR2 and SA. I am currently in canada, but my PGWP expiring on Dec 8th 2015. I have already applied for a visitor visa on November 2, 2015 which would allow me to stay with my wife till I get my PR. I have few questions. Please help me guys..

1. I didn't get any reply from CIC about the visitor visa. It only shows the application is open. I am worried if i applied with a wrong form? Is it IMM 5708 with supporting docs? Then why its taking too long?

2. What if I didn't get my visitor visa approved by Dec 8th 2015? What should I do? Can I stay till i get a reply from CIC?

3. What if my visitor visa got rejected? Is there any other chance for me to stay here until I get the PR?

Please help me out guys. I am in a confused state..

CIC is processing app from June/July 2015, so they would not start to process yours yet.

2. you would be implied status till you receive a visitor visa, so I would not worry.
but you cannot study / work when your PGWP is expired.
As long as you have a proof (postal receipt or tracking no. ) that you applied for Visitor visa before your PGWP expired, you should be fine


3. you can apply for work permit, if your boss would support you (LMIA)
i don't think there is any other way beside visitor visa or work permit if you wanna stay in Canada.
hope other members would give more info regarding to this matter.

So how long I can stay in canada on implied status? Or is there chance for me to get the PR before visitor visa?

you are implied status till you receive your visitor visa.

Applying for PR is different category, you should look it up which category you are qualified and apply for.
normally it takes more than a year .
