Hello everyone,
My sister just completed her studies in Canada. The length of her studies was 2 years but she didn't take any break and completed her studies in 16 months instead of 2 years. Now, she has to apply for post graduation work permit. We're confused whether she will get the work permit of 16 months which is equivalent to her studies or she would get a work permit of 3 years?
She has received her official transcripts and graduation letter as well. Her transcripts shows that she has completed her problem and the marks of all the courses but the length is not mentioned on it. However, it is clearly mentioned that she has completed 2 years-4 semesters of studies.
Now, Would she get a work permit of 3 years or 16 months?
And also, Is it safe to flagpole in Ontario to get her PGWP as our grandmother is not well and we need to go back to our country for few days.

If her transcripts say it is a 2 year course, that's what the eligibility will be judged on. A 2 year course generally gets 3 year PGWP (but remember no visa is guaranteed). She has to apply for the PGWP while her study permit is still valid. If she does that, she is on implied status until she gets a reply and may work.

I don't know about flagpoling, but be aware there have been mixed results on this forum concerning this. Good luck, hope she gets it.
